Grace, I think you have touched something quite sensitive but I would not agree with you to 100%: ecotourism is a young activity and many people that are deeply committed do their best to adopt an eco position. However, some people wrongly use this term for activities that have not respect for environment.
As far as I have seen, ecotourism could have a highly positive impact, especially on population, bringing more jobs to communities.
Lastly, I am just wondering if there is any part of this plant which has not been touched by human activities: even some of the most natural areas need human intervention to keep their balance (mainly because we modified something in the past).

ecotourism will have its pros and cons. But I do believe it has to be continued in a sustainable manner. Because it leads to certain economic benefits that is necessary to keep people away from taking destructive measures. It can be used as a tool for educating the visitors also...

This thing called ecotourism does not work! Never has, in fact. This is for the basic reason that it is impossible for tourism to not touch the environment.
The dictum of the so-called sustainable tourism is ”Leave Nothing and Take Nothing,” but tourism is inherently an intrusive activity. Tourists will definitely leave something, touch something, and destroy something in the environment.
